Career at Chatham

“You’ve got to be in it to win it”

We are always looking for new team members: associates, legal trainees and research assistants (w/m). We offer an exciting alternative to major law firms for particularly motivated and talented lawyers.

Lawyer (m/f) – State aid law, competition law, procurement law

Lawyer (m/y) — Real estate law

Associates (w/m)

Do you have excellent qualifications and do you want to do exciting and varied work? Does doing challenging work as part of a team with an international outlook whilst also having a life outside the office sound attractive to you?

We are recruiting experienced junior lawyers and young professionals to work in a dynamic team united by its enjoyment of varied and challenging legal work. As a boutique law firm we are highly specialized. We don’t simply see ourselves in terms of our specialisms such as corporate or public law. Rather, we are project lawyers advising on specific legal products, in respect of which we provide our clients with a one stop shop solution.

It is important for us that you do not only participate in our daily work with clients but also play an active part in the general development of Chatham Partners. We will involve you in our processes at an early stage and provide space for your personal and professional development opportunities. Subject to your suitability and interest we will also encourage partnership aspirations.

Working at Chatham Partners should also be compatible with having a life outside the office, we don’t propagate an “up or out” policy and are open to flexible working practices both in terms of time and location. Our ultimate goal is the complete satisfaction of our clients. We are convinced that there are many routes to achieving this. We will support you in finding your individual way of achieving this so that as much as possible you can combine family, friends, and passions with the challenges of a demanding profession.

We expect the highest quality standards of work from our associates and therefore pay the competitive salaries whilst also being serious about your continued professional development. Unlike at most major law firms you can expect a close working relationship with the partners as well as a high degree of autonomy, guaranteeing optimum conditions for on the job training and development. In addition to this, you will be offered the opportunity to attend in house and external training courses to help build career enhancing skills.

If the above sounds interesting, we look forward to receiving your written application and a possible meeting in person. Please send a detailed written application to us by email to: career@chatham.partners

Legal trainees and research assistants

You have not yet completed your legal clerkship or training contract or are looking to do some legal work while writing on your legal doctorate thesis? Are you curious about what it means to work at a boutique law firm and would like to contribute to exciting mandates? You want to work closely in a dynamic team and receive client exposure? You are looking for an opportunity to prove yourself as a candidate for a permanent associate position?

Then we have exactly the right offer for you! We are always hiring legal trainees and research assistants. We offer competitive payment und will adjust working hours to your individual requirements. We are aware that especially as a legal trainee you need time and space for your exam preparation. For this reason we offer you – possibly also for research assistants – an appropriate training program. We will together with you set up a plan on how you can attend exam preparation courses (including oral exam preparation) besides the daily training on the job. For that purpose we will provide you with a mentor guiding you during your time with Chatham and supporting you in legal and organizational matters. You will get the opportunity to work on mandates relevant for your exam preparation but should also get exposure to new exciting international mandates.

If the above sounds interesting, we look forward to receiving your written application and a possible meeting in person. Please send a detailed written application to us by email to: career@chatham.partners
