Legislative Measures for Successful Sovereign Debt Restructuring
Existing laws and current proposals
As part of our contribution to the Hamburg Sustainability Conference 2024, we prepared a briefing note for the Accelerator Group event on Legislative Measures for Successful Sovereign Debt Restructuring. The note contains a compilation of existing laws and pending bills in support of foreign sovereign debt restructuring from the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, and New York, with a short summary of the context and main features, and a lessons-learned proposal to inform the ongoing legislative debate in Germany and beyond.
