Niklas Hansen
Niklas Hansen advises national and international project developers, energy utilities and investors on energy law with a focus on project developments in the field of renewable energies (e.g. offshore wind, solar energy, biomass and storage solutions).
He focuses on public law issues throughout the entire life cycle of energy projects. He supports his clients in connection with permitting and approval procedures, planning approvals and urban land use planning procedures and represents them in administrative and court proceedings.
Niklas studied law at the universities of Kiel, Germany and Lyon, France. After completing his legal studies, he worked as a research associate in a law firm specialised in environmental law. His legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Schleswig-Holstein included stages at the Ministry for Energy Transition, Agriculture, Environment, Nature and Digitalisation in Kiel and at the Higher Administrative Court in Schleswig. After his legal clerkship, Niklas Hansen worked at Hogan Lovells in a team specialised in energy and infrastructure projects. He then completed a Master's degree (LL.M.) at the Stellenbosch Universtiy, South Africa.
