Chatham further strengthens its Finance, Energy and Corporate teams
Merten Breisacher, who joined the Chatham Finance Team on 1 May 2025, studied law at Georg August University in Göttingen, specialising in private and public commercial law. After graduating, he worked as a research assistant in capital market law. He completed his legal training at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg, including placements at major international law firms in the areas of restructuring and insolvency as well as litigation. At Chatham, Merten advises both national and international clients on financing issues.
On 1 June 2025 Luise Stegemann returned to our Energy Team after sucessfully completing her studies. She studied law and agricultural economics at the Georg August University in Göttingen and received a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation. She completed her legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Schleswig-Holstein, including placements at the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of the Environment, the Administrative Court, the German Embassy in Wellington and Chatham Partners.
Alexander Willeke strengthens our Corporate Team since 1 July 2025. He studied law at the University of Bremen and Amsterdam, where he obtained his Master of Law (LL.M.). Alexander completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Oldenburg, including a placement in a special department of the Hamburg Public Prosecutor's Office and at an international corporate law firm specialising in corporate/M&A.
