Chatham Partners advises RP Global on the acquisition, development and bridge financing for 50 MWp solar PV project Harbke
Led by its partner Linn Lehne, Chatham Partners has advised RP Global on its first German solar PV project, a 50 MWp plant in Harbke, Saxony‑Anhalt from the acquisition until financial close for a bridge financing showing Chatham’s capabilities to provide one-shop advice on the life-circle of a project.
Project Harbke is located on the Wulfersdorf spoil tip, a former lignite mining site situated along the historic East‑West border. Developed together with EPC partner MaxSolar, the project has successfully participated in the EEG tender and navigated an extensive permitting and land‑use process. The site benefits from two existing overhead lines, enabling efficient grid injection without the need for additional transmission infrastructure.
Our services covered the project acquisition, including legal and tax due diligence and after the acquisition, advice on corporate, real estate, and regulatory aspects, such as EEG tender, offtake contracts, grid access, land rights and permitting. We also advised on the bridge financing concluded with BayernLB. Construction is already underway: the PV modules have been installed, and works on the project substation are progressing. Commissioning is scheduled for September 2026.
