Pro bono cooperation between Chatham and RLCK
On 10 February 2021, it ZOOMed between Kiel and Hamburg: Chatham Partners hosted a workshop webinar for the active and future legal advisors of the Refugee Law Clinic Kiel (RLCK). On the agenda: the important soft skills "written (official) communication" and "negotiation skills and strategies". In addition to discussing case constellations from our and RLCK's advisory practice, the students were also given the chance to test their negotiation skills in a role play. This time with us from the Chatham team: Felix Fischer, Christiane Stoehr, Christian Hopf, Celia Renz, Philipp Reinecke and Vincent Nossek.
The RLCK is a student initiative of Kiel University. The RLCK offers free counseling for refugees. By now, the association has a "pool" of more than 60 counselors. As part of their training, students have to go through a certain number of training events each year. Our webinar is part of this year's training program.
We are happy that we could support the amazing work of the RLCK with the webinar and hope for a soon – non-virtual – continuation of the cooperation.
